I’ve never used anything like this prior to Geo F. Trumper Coral Skin food. Wish I’d have known. Works, leave no residue. Skin is great like a perfect shave even if I butcher myself.

No pain or stinging like alum or a styptic pen. Can use aftershave after it too. Has a faint smell that goes away. A dab goes a long way. I definitely recommend Geo F. Trumper Coral Skin food.

I love this stuff. Use it as an aftershave only, but it reduces the irritation I normally get by a great degree. This is probably the one of the best products for reducing razor burn.

Great quality, but still too expensive

Just take a glance at the bulk of user reviews and you’ll know how universally loved this stuff is. It is a fantastic product, but the high price is a hurdle I have a tough time getting past. I’m also not very fond of the smell, which is a very fragrant rose scent. But as anyone who’s used it will tell you, it makes razor burn vanish almost completely and leaves your skin feeling amazing. But there are other, cheaper products out there that produce the same results at half the price (my current favorite being Proraso’s Liquid Cream aftershave, which is just as soothing and has a much subtler, non-floral fresh scent). Skin Food is certainly great stuff, but it’s still worth it to check out your other options before getting hooked on this.

I first learned about this product through an introduction to a website about Classic Shaving [...]. I was looking to return to the traditional ways of shaving using shaving brushes and straight razors (the single blade razors used by barbers), etc. After experimenting with straight razor shaves I needed something to restore my skin quickly or else I was going to have to give up my return to the classic approaches…yikes, ouch!…sometimes you end up taking off too much skin as you relearn this fine art! When I asked what to use in the online forum for classic shavers, everyone recommened Coral (or Lime) Skin Food. It took me a while to find it, but this is the best stuff for a guys face after a close shave; it’s absolutely great for the skin.

After applying it to a freshly shaven face it quickly restores your face to an incredibly smooth and chap free condition. It feels great to put on and it’s so much different than a typical after shave lotion or gel. You have to try it to understand what I mean, but you will most likely love it! If you don’t like the scent of the Coral Skin Food (which is “kind of like” light rose scented) you may prefer the Limes version which is also an equally great product. I happen to love the Coral, because of its color and light scent (neither of which sticks around after putting it on your face…trust me – LOL).

I highly recommend trying this if you are finding that your after shave doesn’t cool you down and repair the skin so that you can face the elements.

I accidentally ordered the wrong product (I meant to order a different scent), and the friendly person who answered the phone when I called the number on the invoice said, “No problem; just ship it back to us and we’ll send you the other scent.” That’s exactly what they did, quickly. I would definitely recommend this seller.

Just use skin lotion, unless it’s a pre-shave for you

The very feminine pink bottle (the liquid is pink in this case) was the first sign that I had made a mistake. The $28 plus shipping was soon realized to be the second.

While this lasts a long time, it really doesn’t do anything for me, that non-comedogenic skin lotion doesn’t do better, for much less. I’ll try Witch Hazel as an after shave and lotion next I suppose. Ugh, tired of bleeding and burning, but, I don’t look too hot with a beard.

Has a slight sting. A tad slick or greasy. Seems to work ok as a pre-shave lotion, if applied in a very small amount. Smell is pleasant, if also not a bit too metro for my tastes.

This is a fantastic product. I use as pre-shave, just before applying shaving cream, and again as an aftershave. Only need to use a little at a time, so each bottle lasts a long time.

For the past 18 years I was suffering each time I shave, but since I tried this product I feel comfortable shaving…it reduced the irritation after shave and the scent is pleasant (like Rose water) but not very strong or even feminine…
