Acne Care and Acne Treatments

Believe it or not, teenagers aren't the only ones who suffer from acne. A lot of women, though men can suffer from this to, from anywhere between the age of 25 to the age of 40 starts to get acne again, and it is often just as bad as it was in those teenage years. This is why acne care and acne treatment products are not all aimed at the teenagers.

Usually, whether you are a teenager or an adult, acne starts as blackheads which then make their ways up to whiteheads when they get the chance. The black heads aren't actually dirt. They are actually caused when oils from the skin and dead cells end up trapped in the pores. As the oils and dead skin cells build up they block the duct which causes them to mix with bacteria. They don't turn black until they come in contact with air.

The red pimples that people suffer from are just an advanced and more painful step for the blockheads. These are caused when your blackheads are inflamed, then spread after being touched by something like dirty hands.

The next step are whiteheads, also called postulates. These form when the pimples become infected, and usually scars form after these bust or split open.

Now you know exactly what it is you are suffering from, and what causes it. Now the question is what acne care and acne treatment steps should be taken next. Well first of all you want to be gentle. Scrubbing blackheads to roughly will irritate them and cause inflammation, which leads to the more painful red pimples. Avoid buying the grainy scrubs, try for cleansers with salicylic acid instead. These do a better job of cleaning without irritating your skin enough to cause the red pimples.

One thing to remember when you begin to treat your acne, you are not a teenager any more. This means that those treatments that work for those teenagers to keep their skin amazing will not work with yours.

For this reason the very first thing and most important thing that you must do is pick the correct acnes care and acne treatment products. It may take some time to find the products that will work for you and your skin type. Whatever acne care and acne treatment products you choose to use need to contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.

The next thing you need to do for your acne care and acne treatment system is to use salicylic acid to help exfoliate your afflicted skin. This will clean your pores out, but if you are to tough on it or you use it to often then it will irritate your blackheads and cause you to have more red pimples. If a certain treatment does not work for you, then try another. Not every treatment will work for everyone. Different skin types require different treatments, and this may mean that one type will cause you to break out more.
