I received this product as a gift from a dear friend, who had been using a Zeno for a while. She loved it and I played around with hers and liked the results. It works for those horrible under the skin bumps that take forever to go away. I love this product! I also like the size, I throw it in my makeup bag and go! I hope everyone enjoys the Zeno like I do!

Way too time consuming
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
The zeno looks pretty, but just didn’t do it for me. Two and a half minutes is far too long if you have more than one pimple to treat. 5 pimples at 2 treatments a day comes out to 25 minutes not including the ridiculous warm up times this thing has. Good luck using Zeno without standing in a mirror and repositioning the tiny treatment plate every 2 seconds to make sure it is touching in the proper spot. Not to mention that the tip has to be replaced every x number of days.

As for results, I wasn’t able to see results using the zeno. Maybe this is due to the fact that I simply didn’t have enough time to do the proper number of treatments on each pimple. If you’re looking for an acne treatment device that utilizes this technology, save yourself hours of time and go with the thermaclear. Zeno is worthless as far as I’m concerned.

Finally a solution!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I started using Zeno a few years ago. I had tried everything from ProActive to over the counter items and nothing seemed to work. As I’m approaching 30, I was getting really tired of having to cover up my pimples. At first I was skeptical trying out Zeno because I figured that like the previous products I’ve tried, that it wouldn’t work. Boy was I wrong (and I’m glad I was wrong!). As soon as I felt or saw a pimple coming in, I would immediately start my Zeno treatment. It would actually stop the pimple from getting bigger and it cleared up a lot sooner than it would have using a topical medication. Zeno is even small enough to carry around in your purse, which is was I love. I totally recommend this product to anyone who would like clear skin!

Makes it WORSE!!!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I had the same results as another Amazon reviewer: B. Walker. I’m in my early 30s and experience the occasional spot blemish on my face (T-zone). After settling on the Zeno Pro because of the reviews here and elsewhere, I was relieved to finally have a devise to make my skin blemish free! This week on Monday when I felt the developing pimple on my chin, I excitedly used the device as instructed over the course of 48 hours (cleaned the device, cleaned my face before application, and made sure not to scrub before or after). Tomorrow is Friday, and my pimple has NOT disappeared. In fact, I now have TWO really painful red inflamed pimples where I applied the device. So much for clearing the pimples within 24 hours, and now I have obvious red bumps on my chin (not whiteheads; not blackheads). Sadly, this device did not work as advertised (for me). I’m now back to what my dermatologist had recommended: warm compresses with a warm towel (a nice steam facial), which has always done the trick for me. I just thought that this device would be more convenient; less messy. Too bad it doesn’t work … in fact it makes the condition WORSE.

Skeptical but now a believer!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was very skeptical about this item. I am a 34 year old female who has had mild acne my whole life. Most people never noticed but it is because I never left the house if it was very severe. I have tried everything. I have spent so many dollars on acne products and believed one recent “acne kit” worked but the acne was still there. I must have tried every brand out there. Every cream, gel, lotion, ointment, mask, toner, astringent, etc. I thought it was the way I ate but I drink a ton of water and never touch fast food. I then though maybe it was because I was over washing. You name it I have thought of it. I bought this after I have had a few zits that would not clear up. Nobody likes to talk or even read about zits/acne but it is a problem for some of us. It literally kept me from going out. I recently had a huge one on my cheek, the kind you can feel and it is still healing. I received the ZENO 90 last week. I charged it for the first six hours and it states to use it on acne that is not at the surface already but acne that you can feel coming on. I had a few small ones and tried it on those and they went away. Still skeptical because they were not big and never hit the surface so how was I to know it was the ZENO or not. Then tonight I got a really big one next to the old one on my cheek. I got depressed. I know it is pathetic. I knew this was one that was going to be huge. It was one like the others I have had. You cannot help but pick at it and it takes weeks to go away. Scabs up and bleeds, no make up will cover it. Since it was so deep I truly did not think the ZENO would get it. I could literally feel pain on my cheek that is how bad this new acne was. I used the ZENO twice on it tonight and I cannot even feel the acne pain anymore and within hours it is clearing up! I did not believe it would work until I tried it tonight. I almost want to cry. This little device is giving me part of my life back. I was so embarrassed at some of my recent acne I could not bare to face people. What this thing did tonight proved it works on even the most deep seeded acne that will take weeks to clear. As far as treatments they are not bad at all. They have some heat but nothing too uncomfortable. I truly think it is the acne that you apply it to that can cause the most pain not the device. I also clean the device with an alcohol pad after each use just to be safe. I cannot say enough about this product. I was very skeptical but after tonight, I am a believer and will never use anything else besides this. Of course I will still wash my face with a cleanser but if I feel anything coming on, I am using my ZENO. It rocks!

I got the pink and carry it with me in the leather case all the time. I use it at work and in the car it I need to. I got a bit anxious and used it too much on a couple of pimples, and I burned my skin, it got kind of hard, but it cleared up nicely. It has totally worked on my pimples. Amazing, but use it by the book.

Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Well I bought this product 2 years ago and it came with one 90 tip head. The product itself mechanically worked great, but I could not see any drastic change of my pimples going down when i used the zeno… I may have been usuing them on the wrong type of pimples… who knows, I dont really have terrible acne I just wanted to give it a try. If anything this device gave me a little bit of hope and kept me from picking my face when I got pimples. I really do think it works.

Now heres my problem… I only used the product 90 times (the 90 tip head it came with) I never even bought a replacement tip. I stored the product in my bathroom and didn’t use it for a year or a year and a half… and now recently i go to plug it in and charge it and the zeno is completely broken. The charger has no effect on the zeno at all, it doesn’t work anymore. I looked back in the manual and it says do not store it in humid temperatures and since it was in the bathroom I guess that could be why something went wrong, but what really bothered me was that I called zeno up and said I paid 200 dollars for this thing… and it doesn’t work after one tip! They basically said the product battery is irreplacable and usually only lasts for about 3 years anyway. She said she cannot do anything because they only replace zenos after 1 year of purchase and mine was purchased 2 years ago…… but i haven’t used it…. Idk i was just kind of pissed that i couldn’t even get it fixed or replaced when it was most likely their product malfunction… I’m considering writing them on this

My Dad had originally bought this for my sister and I both to use, as we have acne. The promise of clearing that 1 big stubborn zit overnight was so tempting, it was really too good to be true.

Zeno does not work. Doesn’t matter if you use it twice a day or once a week, it does not get rid of your pimples. That is the sad truth.

If anything, I think the heat irritated my sister and my pimples, and they turned bright red and looked worse after usage.

Don’t buy this product thinking it will help. Nice idea, awful execution.

I used the Zeno for the first time on two small developing pimples. One of them was the kind that typically would turn into something bigger. I used it twice in one day and at first I couldn’t tell if they looked the same or maybe even worse. But I went to bed and when I woke up they were definitely better! I can’t say for sure if Zeno prevented them from turning into bigger pimples, but at least it did not make them worse and I honestly think it worked. I have been breaking out like crazy lately and this may have prevented another disaster. I’m going to keep using it.

What a nice addition to my beauty arsenol! I know it sounds weird, but when I first got my Zeno, I was actually looking forward to my first zit! It is just a really fun beauty tool that even my 18 year old son likes to use. We just zap the zit and forget about it. Usually by the following day, our face is clear with no other side effects such as flakey skin and so on. It is gentle on the skin, plus it even works on the really deep zits that can be painful. Our house is very happy! The only thing you really need to do is charge it about once a week and it is always ready to go. We are one year and one tip going strong! What a cool, hip zit gadget!

I have tried 3 times to leave a review for the Zeno- Clearing-Device-60-Count-Cartridge and it somehow keeps getting deleted. This product did not work for me at all and I gave it 1 star. I find it very odd that everyone else has given it 4-5 stars and wanted my review out there. I have read reviews on this product outside of Amazon and found them to be less positive and more critical. Is there a reason my review will not stay? Does amazon allow certain products to only feature positive reviews?? A response back would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

AMAZON’S RESPONSE: No Apologies, just a thanks for your email, blah, blah, blah

EMAIL #3:

ok- so i saw yesterday that half of my review was posted. a part of it about returning it for a refund was deleted. however, today it has been deleted from the reviews again. what is going on? this product is complete crap and i find it hard to believe that others do not share the same opinion as me. please investigate this matter. thanks. i really am disappointed in amazon.

AMAZON RESPONSE: Apologizes, blah blah blah

EMAIL # 4:

Thanks for the prompt response. I checked for my review and see that my review has been reposted, but it has also been changed from 1 star to 5 stars along with the deleted parts of my initial review. Again, I am really disappointed in Amazon. This is flat out wrong and just not fair. This item costs $150 which is a big money maker for Amazon and whomever else. It also does not work (at least for me) and people buying this (and whatever other product reviews). Amazon has modified to their benefit) should have the right to know what others think. If not it should be stated in BOLD PRINT that this particular seller or item only shows 4-5 star reviews. This kind of activity will only prevent people from using Amazon. I used to think Amazon was the best thing ever.

AMAZON RESPONSE: You get the picture…

EMAIL #5:

it seems my zeno review of 1 star has again been deleted by amazon for the 4th time. what is going on?? why is it constantly being deleted? it has been modified in words and in stars in the past before posting and i have had to constantly check on it and keep emailing amazon to get it back up. is there someone higher up i can speak to regarding this?? thank you.

EMAIL #6:

hi- my review is still not up and i really have a problem with the zeno reviews. they all seem to be modified in some way. obviously it is a big money maker and a negative review is not wanted. i would really like to talk to someone who can help with this matter. i am sure that i am not the only one that tried to post a negative review only to have it modified, not go up or taken down and this is my 6th email regarding this issue. thanks.

EMAIL #7:

Where is my original zeno review??? It seems to have been deleted again and again and again. When it does get reposted, it is not as how I wrote it. For example, it may be posted as 5 stars instead of 1, etc… I would like to speak to someone on this matter. This is my 7th email regarding this situation.

The attention to detail and design is similar to an iPod. It’s easy to use, has instructions on the device itself, and is very clear about what it can and cannot do. This is not for all kinds of acne. It’s for the kind that sits below the surface and hurts. It’s not an overnight success for me, but it speeds up the time for these things to go away.

The product does work, however the 90 count cartridge that came with the device only worked for 12 or so uses. Very disappointed. I should have purchased it in the regular store; I would have had better luck with it working like it said. I wonder how long the product was on the shelf when it was sold to me? And, how the life of the product declines when inactive?

I purchased this product for my 14 daughter who has occasional acne. She uses it when she begins to feel the pimple form. I was concerned that the tip would be hot and burn her face – but, to my surprise, it does not irritate her skin at all. Using the Zeno seems to stop the pimple from coming up if she catches it early. If she used the Zeno after the pimple comes out, it disappears within a day or two. I have also used the Zeno on occasion with great success. I will definitely buy replacement tips and continue to use.

Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I purchased the Zeno after reading the reviews on various sites. I have moderate acne, and hoped that the Zeno would help prevent acne or promote healing. After 2 weeks of use (following the instructions exactly) I have seen NO IMPROVEMENT whatsoever. When used on zits just appearing, the Zeno did not prevent them from coming to the surface. When used on zits on the surface, I saw no improvement in terms of speed of healing. In fact, the Zeno seemed to SLOW the healing process. I spoke to my dermatologist, who said that this device has limited results in most people she works with, even when used as directed. Save your money and buy some benzoyl peroxide or retin-A instead.

What a great product! Originally heard about it from my dr., but only tried it just recently. It is basically foolproof. There is no way to burn yourself. Just follow the instructions, which are really easy. It feels warm, but still comfortable to the touch. It does take a couple times to learn, but once you figure out the simple sequence, it does diminish new eruptions rather hastily. I am very content with my purchase and results.

The Zeno is a life saver!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Lets just start this off by saying that i have severe acne. This is a great product for people with mild-moderate acne. The device does not work on black heads, white heads, cysts, nodules, or zits. It only works on pimples have not yet surfaced. It does a great job of getting rid of pimples. If you are a person who gets a 2-3 pimples at a time this is the product for you. If you have bad acne. I would not waste your money. The one or two pimples that it clears up in a day is not going to make all that big of a difference. It does clear up the pimples quickly!!! It is a great product for certain skin types!

I felt that I fell within the criteria that this product claims it will work for and after a few weeks of playing with it, I can really say I didn’t notice a difference and won’t be purchasing refills or recommending this. It simply didn’t make a difference for myself or for a couple other people that tried it. I think the industry needs something external like this, but I feel this one misses the mark.

I give it stars at all because it is easy to use, compact, and has an elegant design. :)

I’ve always been frustrated when I know a zit is about to come up – usually right before something very important (or stressful) – and there is nothing I can do about it. Finally I have a way to stop them! It makes me feel good to know that I’m actually doing something, but also it really works!! A couple zaps every several hours really stops the zits from being a major breakout. Very cool and very easy. I also found it works even better on new zits. Use it as soon as you notice it. I can tell that some of the other reviewers with less desirable results did not do this. You really have to read (and follow) the directions on this one.

This item is not reviewed or recommended as helping with cycstic acne, but it makes an immense difference. I have hormonal acne from IVF drugs. This device substainially brings down the swelling of these cysts within hours. Repeated use keeps them less active and more or less flush with the skin. A godsend! Really the only thing which helps the situation at all, it makes a remarkable difference.

I’ve seen no change whatsoever. I was conviced it would work from all the great reviews, but it didnt. on the up side, it was easy to use and battery lasts a long time i’ve only charged it twice in the past month. it is hot at first but you get used to it. the area does stay red for at least 5-10 minutes after use but i usually put on concealer to cover the spot anyway.

Worth the Money
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I got the Zeno three years ago as a Christmas gift. I’d never had bad acne, but i did get that really horrible pimple always right before my birthday or new years (twice!) and at least once a month. Mine have always been really deep and swollen and hurt really bad. I was a little skeptical, i mean it’s just heat right, what can it do? well first off, you have to take it at the first sign of a pimple. it won’t work if you already have a head on it (but it does make it feel better).

Usually it took over two weeks to really get rid of those deep pimples, but i did notice that if i applied the Zeno at the first sign and before i went to bed, it didn’t get a head on it and the swelling went down significantly. the pimple was completely gone within the week. I owe my life to it,i noticed right before new years eve 2007 that i started to get that sore feeling under my skin on my chin, and applied the Zeno twice a day for 3 days and by new years, you couldn’t even tell anymore! that really got me hooked.

Now i use it to prevent pimples during that time of the month. it really helps control those read bumps around my nose and my chin.

I highly recommend this product!!! it’s been three years and only about three or four refills. you really get your money out of it. it’s worth it to not have that third eye on your forehead or that really ugly swollen mountain on your chin. and those who don’t like this product are probably from the competing Zeno knock-off. BEWARE!! I’ve done the research because the other one is a bit cheaper and i like to compare before i buy. But from what i’ve read and heard, it doesn’t work AT ALL. so pay the extra $20, it is well worth it!

oh! and i’m totally jealous now because it comes in different colors! mine is silver. but they are really small (smaller than an iphone) and fit well in my purse for emergency use!

Zeno vs. Thermaclear: a personal experience
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I got the Zeno about 3 years ago from my dermatologist’s office, and saw good results: it cleared up or minimized existing blemishes within a couple of days, and it looked to me like it also prevented new blemishes from appearing, thus clearing the skin over the course of several months.

Unfortunately, after about 18 months of usage, my Zeno started to malfunction; it would shut itself off automatically before a treatment was completed, then it stopped working altogether. Too bad I had made a $150 investment that I thought would last me for years. So, I was very encouraged to find out that there was a good alternative out there in the marketplace — the Thermaclear device — that did not need constant cartidge changes (I always thought that was a big rip-off with the Zeno), plus it worked much faster: a couple of seconds per zit instead of 2 1/2 minutes that can become very tedious at times.

So, I got myself a Thermaclear instead, and at first I loved it: granted, it certainly looks bulky and unelegant compared to the sleek Zeno, but after all, it’s an acne device and not an iPhone, so looks don’t really matter.

In addition, I felt that the much-criticised “bee-sting” sensation from the device when applied to the blemish was really a non-issue: yes, you feel it but it’s totally bearable.

However, after about 2-3 weeks of usage, I started to notice that my skin was red and irritated, and worse, that a lot of new zits were forming right next to the previously treated zits. THe burning sensation on my skin intensified, and it persisted even hours after the treatment. It may be that I over-used the device on my skin — it’s so fast and easy to zap the zits that this may have been the case. In any event, I decided to play it safe and returned the Thermaclear, and I reluctantly got myself to switch back to the Zeno — yes, there’re definitely features that I do not like about the Zeno, but I must say after a Zeno treatment my skin feels fresh and “clean from the inside”, instead of irritated like with the Thermaclear.

Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I’ve only used this product once because it left a burn mark which took a few weeks to heal. I used it as was decribed, was surprised to see the pimple turning into a scab. sure, the zit went away, actually, it came to a head the next day, then the scabbing started, something that wouldn’t normally happen if you just let the pimple run it’s course. I’m afraid to use this product again. I mean really, I can cover a zit with make-up, but a scab the size of a pea isn’t so easy. I think I’ll use it for half the recommended amount of time and see what happens, but not on my face- if I get a pimple somewhere that no one can see, I will experimant there.

Love it!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve heard the people who say it doesn’t work, but it works GREAT for me!! I think the reason people have some trouble with it is if they start using it too late. I don’t get pimples too often, maybe one like once or twice a month. I always use it right when I feel that soreness when you know a pimple is blooming!! I use it twice, maybe three times on the upcoming pimple, and it never even makes it to the full-on red pimple stage, it just disappears. The bottom line is that you can look at absolutely any acne product on this site, and there will be people it didn’t work for. Zeno seems like it’s best for people like me who get occasional pimples that screw up their week, not for a whole faceful of perpetual acne. Just my opinion, but I love mine and I’ve bought them for friends too – all the bridesmaids in my wedding got Zeno’s as bridesmaids gifts!

I purchased the Zeno Pro at the advice of my dermatologist. He is a believer in the product & thought it would help with my frequent bouts of cystic acne along the jawline. Given that it was recommended by an MD, I had *extremely* high hopes. Unfortunately, the results have been very disappointing. The Zeno has done absolutely nothing to clear my skin. It seems to have no impact whatsoever on my acne, even when used at the first tingle of an outbreak. The best I can say is that after using the Zeno, the pimple is somewhat less swollen, making it easier to conceal with makeup. All in all, though, I would say that this is a pretty expensive product that has given me very little return for my money. I would definitely not recommend it.

After seeing Zeno on the Today Show last week, I went out and bought one. Wow! I used this last night on 4 spots while watching the news…2 spots were on my neck and another one right above my cheekbone. This morning, all 3 were completely GONE! The 4th spot that I used it on was an old pimple that I had previously picked which you aren’t supposed to do, but it even looks significantly better today too. This is just so much better than creams, not drying at all either! I did get a slight pinkness on just 1 of the 4 treated areas, but it was gone by the time the news was over…amazing technology!

Not for all acne
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I was disappointed that this device didn’t work for me. I gave it several tries over several days in accordance with the instructions, but rather than speed healing it actually prolonged my break-outs by making them hard, solid little knots. Also, my skin is fair, and as the directions state can happen, I experienced angry red spots where the device was applied. I ended up returning it and will stick with warm, wet soaks for emerging break-outs. I certainly don’t discourage trying it out since other reviews indicate it can work effectively, but unfortunately it didn’t perform as hoped for my specific skin issues. Also, be aware that this particular packaging comes with a carry case so don’t order a separate one if given the option in the “combo” offer. The return was hassle-free, just disappointed this wasn’t effective!

This device actually works! I too was skeptical before using it, but it got rid of my pimple in just one treatment. I got up the next morning to do the second treatment and the pimple was gone. It is really easy to use too. It is cute and effective, and worth every bit of the cost. The Zeno also stays charged for quite a while. I would recommend this product to anyone no matter what your age. I use it, my teens use it, and I think I am going to try it on my husband next. Everyone needs a ZENO!

Not so effective
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Although many reviews said that this product was effective, it did not work at all for me. In some places it actually made my acne worse. i did return the product and receive the full refund. I decided to go to a dermatologist, who prescribed medication for me that has been much more effective that any treatment that I have tried. My advice is, before you purchase ‘miracle’ products consider going to a dermatologist. They are usually covered by insurance but if you do not have insurance the visit charge is about $50, and the Rx is about $25 with rebates that can make them 0.

I read the reviews here, and decided to purchase this product. (It was pretty obvious to me that someone or some big company was making up false, negative information when I read the reviews). Common sense told me that many everyday products, such as a heating pad and waxing, are much warmer than Zeno, but do not harm the skin. So I gave it a try. I am very glad I did as I have found it to be highly effective in eliminating pimples. In fact , I have seen a reduction in eliminating pimples on certain areas of my face after using Zeno. This is truly an honest product that lives up to it’s claims! What a breath of fresh air after years of using numerous misc. acne treatments and lotions that really did not seem to make a difference!

Thank you, Zeno!

I feel like Scrooge here, but this was a horrible waste of money for me
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Okay, some basic facts before the review: I bought this for both my son and I to try: I’m 40, he’s 17, I have some very mild acne, the kind that this is supposedly targeted at, the painful red bump-y-ish things, nothing severe. Same with my son. Nothing major, just the occasional mild breakout, easily caught early, nothing very inflammatory or pustular, absolutely nothing needing a dermatologist. We both use mild acne products (ProActiv for him, Philosophy stuff for me) with good success, but the occasional painful red swelling acne along the jawline for me and along the hairline for him were an issue, so we thought we’d try this out.

What a failure. I carefully read the directions and although I know not every kind of acne responds to the Zeno, I’m still confident that we fell into the category of having the kind of acne that should have. From a single usage, my acne became “sunburned” and got more painful, not better. I don’t have particularly sensitive skin and I did follow the directions carefully, but apart from obviously irritating my skin, the Zeno did nothing at all for me.

Worse, the Zeno exacerbated my son’s acne the two times he used it. We again, followed the directions carefully, made sure the Zeno was clean, yet he ended up with acne that lasted longer and was more painful than if he’d just put some extra Clearasil on it.

I’m thrilled that this product works well for most everyone who’s posted reviews here, but I felt compelled to also post my review as a word of warning – this is not the end all for acne treatment and it doesn’t work well for everyone, even when you’d think there’s no reason why it shouldn’t. I have a very expensive pimple zapper collecting dust in my bathroom because I had some unrealistic expectations based on some of what I read and some of what I didn’t see.

My best advice is to think very carefully about balancing out how badly you want to risk the money versus how efficacious other products can be in clearing up mild to moderate acne issues. There’s actually a great new version of Clearasil that promises (and does) to start to shrink and remove redness of pimples within 4 hours. So it’s all a personal choice thing, but this ended up being a very expensive mistake for us and I just wanted to at least be a small voice of warning.

Zeno is a big seller in my spa!!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have owned my own day spa business for over 10 years and have carried Zeno in my spa since it was introduced. Bar none, Zeno is one of my top spa product sellers. My clients love it because it works on most of their blemishes and because it contains no harsh, drying chemicals. I even had one client that came back to me saying that it saved her during pregnancy, because her doctor would not prescribe her any meds because of her condition. It is a safe, natural alternative for removing blemishes and I will continue to carry it in my spa.

I was skeptical before trying this product. Not form the stinging or burning but if it would be worth it at all to even try. I used the product like it said and it did not work – at all for my acne. Guess it varies from person to person, but I saw no difference at all after 5 uses on each of my breakouts I tested it on. Not worth the money at all if you ask me!

Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This worked even the first time I tried it! I had a small tender red bump coming up on my chin. I used ZENO two times and the tenderness and soreness were GONE. The bump was smaller. Then I used ZENO a third time on the same bump and it became so small I hardly felt it! It never got bigger or came to a head. I am so impressed because usually these bumps get large and become a head and nothing works to keep it from getting larger. ZENO is working to keep my occasional acne from getting to the pus stage. I love it. I was skeptial at first but now I wouldn’t think of using anything else. When I feel the red bump and a soreness I grab the ZENO.

Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I am 21 years old, I bought the zeno last year and returned it within a month. I don’t have terrible breakouts – maybe one zit a week – not too bad.

Anyways, I found that I tried it on all sorts of pimples and had no luck- never once did I see a noticeable difference in the pimple, whether it was small or big it stayed the exact same and 100% of the time it turned even bigger.

I bought it based on people’s reviews online, and i am so glad it works for people, but for some reason, it didn’t work for me, or my boyfriend or my two best friends…. go figure.

Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This product was a dud for me. It didn’t work at all. I’m in my early 20s and this did nothing for me. You’re better off with a hot wet towel, which actually does work. It may work if the bump is just growing or the zit is in its early stages, but absolutely does not work once it’s developed and past. However, it didn’t work for me in the early zit stages either, it only managed to irritate it and make it a full blown problem that much quicker.

works most of the time, but not perfect
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought this product for use on my moderate-to-severe acne (I use Renova (Rx), but I still have occasional pimples). Just as the instructions say, it doesn’t really work on cystic acne; I tried it on several (the kind that don’t come to a head and take weeks to eventually go away) and it had little effect. It works best on newly formed pimples that are red and sore.

Depending on the severity, it takes 3-5 treatments before mine would clear up. Usually I don’t notice much difference until after the 3rd, 4th, or sometimes 5th treatment, when the zit actually dries up and disappears! There are two things I appreciate about this product: first, I love not having to wait on a zit to come to a head, be tempted to pop it, which often resulted in it recurring and later leaving a scar; and second, I love that it shortens the life of the zit so I don’t have to put up with the soreness and unsightly red bump for more than a day or two. Also, after using the product for two months, I’m not having nearly as many pimples as I was before (don’t know for sure if this is due to the Zeno or some other reason, but it’s nice just the same).

Overall I’m not sure if this product is effective enough to be worth the $100+ price tag, not to mention the cost of replacement cartridges, but it certainly does work for me!

Rating:1 out of 5 stars
You hear a lot of mixed reviews regarding zeno, and personally, it did was not effective for my skin condition. The product’s insert DOES disclaim that it is not effective for severe acne in the form of cystic acne so I can’t exactly be surprised by the outcome. Still, since a lot of ppl claim that it worked for them, I tried it for a month. I used the device right whenever I felt a zit forming, but to my disappointment I’d still get the breakout.

Great device!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I only just recently discovered the Zeno. I wish I’d heard about it sooner. I’ve been through numerous treatments of Accutane and every topical product available. This is by far the best solution for clearing up acne I’ve found. Within hours of my applying the third (sometimes second) treatment to the affected area it is cleared up. I get cystic acne, and have had a very high success rate with it. Not wanting to go through another course of Accutane this appeared to be a viable alternative for me … and thus far it has proved to be the best alternative I’ve tried.

I read all the reviews on the product before I purchased it and found them to be overwhelmingly positive. While this product is quite an investment when I compare it to what I’ve spent in treating acne over the years the cost is trivial. I’ve been battling acne since my teen years and am now in my 40′s. I’ve had a lot of experience with a number of products and consider this to be by far the best solution.

My two cents on the Zeno Pro Device
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I have been using the Zeno Pro for about 2 weeks. Overall, it has been a moderate to above-average success. It is quite simple to use. It dispenses concentrated heat to destroy bacteria. I usually break out pretty badly every couple months. When I do break out, it is always huge zits that sometimes leave scars for months. I’m 33 and my acne has gotten worse as I age.

I’ve noticed as I use it, it takes some zits that were bound to be pretty severe and prevents them from ballooning into massive acne. It does not work on every zit, but if you follow the directions (completely idiot-proof), you should see results on a majority of them, as I have. At the least, a zit that stayed on my face for 2 weeks can now be reduced to staying on my face for less than a week. This is a big deal, b/c the longer the zit stays on you, the greater the chance to scar.

This is a medical device. It is expensive, but the replacement tips are pretty reasonable. As someone who sees a dermatologist, uses many different acne creams, potions, etc, I figured I had nothing to lose. I am quite happy I bought it, and at least it offers some hope to reduce some adult acne. I love that it is medication free and uses nothing more than heat. And don’t be afraid, it’s not so hot as to burn you. It’s a nice warm heat, which if used properly, leaves nothing more than a redness around the zit for about 30 mins.

Unfortunately it didn’t work as well for me as it has for many of the reviewers. Even with multiple treatments, I only had about a 50% success rate with blemishes treated with Zeno. With such a low success rate, it’s not worth the cost to me. Ultimately, I made the decision to return it within the 30 day guarantee period.

Zeno is a wonderful invention for people (young or mature) who have blemishes. You never know when one is going to pop up but it will happen when you least expect it. And you don’t have to worry about it getting too hot because it automatically turns off at the preset time. Great Concept, Great Design, but…it simply did not work for me…
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
First of all, let me start by saying that the design and concept behind this product is amazing and should be applauded. Conceptually it makes sense, it is very easy to use, and its presentation is super. It comes with a charger with a large cord, an instruction booklet, a quick start instruction card (for people who do not like to read directions), and the Zeno itself.

The Zeno is very easy to use. Charge it for at least 8 hours before first use and put the application tip in place and it is ready to use. The instructions are easy to follow and you can use it 2-3 times a day on the same area. It has both an audible beep as well as change in light colors that guide you when it is ready to begin and when it should be removed from your skin. When I used it, it did create a noticeable red dot area that remained probably for a half and hour after the treatment before fading. This red dot was the exact location of where the Zeno was placed against my skin. So, because of the visible red dot, I would not recommend using this device if you are going to be out in the public eye within the half hour, or people will notice where you used the Zeno. I want to stress, that I did not have any painful reaction to it or tingling. Literally within 30 mins or less you could not tell that I used to Zeno. For those of you concerned about being burnt, it is warm not hot for the entire 2.5 minute cycle. It never becomes painful during the treatment.

I followed the directions verbatim from the instruction manual, and I used this product for approximately 2 weeks before concluding that it did nothing to diminish my occasional skin outbreak. I did not notice any shortening between irritation to fully healed as the product promised. I realize that this product is designed to only work on pimples as they come to fruition, not once they are already in existence. I did not see any shortening of life span of my pimples that I could not get from using Clean & Clear, Clinique or my prescription topical.

Like other reviewers, I have sensitive skin, and occasional adult pimples. I would be considered to have occasional mild outbreaks. I have consulted with a dermatologist so I have prescription topicals. It is important to note that in the instruction manual, Zeno stresses that this device is supposed to be used in conjunction with your existing face treatment, and should not be a substitute for prescriptions or your established face cleaning regimen. For that reason, I guess I had high expectations of this device. I continued my face cleaning regimen and did not notice any change when using the Zeno. Which for a device that costs more than $100 dollars, and requires fairly pricey refills, if it is not working then that is money out of your pocket that you could be spending on other things. Thus, I opted to return it, exercising the 30 day money back guarantee that was advertised on the Amazon.com website and in the instruction manual. Note that Amazon.com had by far the lowest price I could find on this item, especially because it was one of my deals of the day. Although I got it for a great deal, I came to a fairly quick conclusion that it did not work for me as Zeno promised it would. I guess I am part of the 10% of people who do not show progress from using this device. Perhaps it helps people with greater skin problems than I have, but for me it did not help. I will continue using Clinique daily and my prescription topical for my occasional outbreaks.

Do NOT buy the Zeno!
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I purchased my Zeno Pro 14 months ago. Since purchase, my Zeno has not held a battery charge for longer than one use. I could charge my Zeno for a full 24 hours, and I still would get only one use out of the device. I was not aware Zeno had a 12 month warranty only. I just now got around to calling for service or replacement, and was told they do not offer repair, and will not replace because I was 2 months outside of the warrantly window. Unbelievable. Defective product, and a company that clearly does not stand by it’s product. As for performance controlling acne, I also would not recommend. I don’t think it had any impact whatsoever. It may work for those that only get occasional, tiny blemishes. Avoid dealing with this company!

Nice Skin Tool
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Zeno is a nice skin tool for untimely blemishes. It is much a necessity in my house now. I suspect the reason for its mixed reviews is because you really must follow the directions. However, I have to say I did notice more unnecessary negativity with the Zeno reviews on this site when I researched before buying…many which I have found to be unfounded now that I have used the Zeno personally. It works much better than the traditional creams and lotions which just dry out the skin. A deep, painful unsightly blemish that surfaced above my lip from yesterday morning is no longer visible…this is why I use it! It works very effectively!

Things You Should Know
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
There are so many varied reviews for this product depending on which version you clicked on! Here’s what I’ve found from mine:

First, this is intended to work on adult acne, the occasional blemish. Sorry teens, this probably isn’t the best choice for you unless you only have the occasional break-out.

Second, this only works on NEW pimples so when you get it, don’t expect the ones you currently have to suddenly disappear. It works best when you first notice a pimple appearing, especially in that just starting to get sore, slight red spot stage.

That being sad, it does actually work, provided you keep the first two rules in mind! Two days after I received mine, I noticed that tell tale red spot beginning to form, I zapped it & not only did it not get worse, by the next morning, it was completely gone!

Plus, a portion of the pink version goes to Breast Cancer research & if you buy it from the company (not sure about Amazon) there is a 30-Day Money Back Guarantee.

All in all, a great product.

Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This product has worked flawlessly for me. Whenever I begin to detect that a pimple is going to form on some embarassingly prominent part of my face, I zap it with Zeno, and it goes away in a few hours, having never developed into a full-blown zit. So far, one treatment has been all any of them required. What a bonus! If only they had invented this when I was in high school, I wouldn’t have the pock marks I have today.

[...]

I don’t know why some of the reviewers of this device haven’t had success. It’s a bummer that a product that has worked so well for me and others is not working for them. However, if you get pimples often enough that you’re reading this review, I suggest you buy this product and try it. If it doesn’t help you, return it. If you’re lucky, you’ll enjoy the same results I did.

I have to say I have been very pleased with my Zeno and have not had any of the experiences being posted ( no burning, no problem with blemish getting worse and no long term redness). I just followed the directions and those pesky under the skin pimples go away in a day or two. I think the key is to follow the directions. I was skeptical about buying this at first, but after seeing it in Allure, and reading the various reviews on amazon, I decided to try it.

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised; it does what it says. It won’t work on cyctic acne or if the pimple has already come to a head. It does work on pimples that are just beginning.. those hard, tender knots deep under your skin you just know are going to be huge in a day or two. I’ve used it on two pimples that were red bumps, and both were mostly gone within 24 hours. Completely gone in less than 3 days. I purchased this item after reading a recommendation and was very excited to receive it. I charged it as per the instructions and noticed that there was no light to indicate that it was charging anywhere on the device. However after the minimum charge period a light appeared and the device began to work. I used it no more than 3-4 times before it completely died, never to be revived. I had registered the 1 year warranty with Tyrell Inc, so I tried to call them to find out what I needed to do to get a replacement. When I finally got hold of someone (which took quite a while), they took me through a spiel about unplugging to and plugging it back in the charge it again. This made no difference. I now wish to get a replacement as per the warranty guarantee but the company is proving very elusive. Having read other reviews on other sites written by people with exactly the same problem, I now realize that this is probably not a one-off issue. I can’t comment on the effectiveness of the product on acne, since I never had the chance to test it properly, but I can say that if you buy one be prepared to risk getting a dud device like I did.

THANK YOU, ZENO!!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was quite skeptic when it came to purchasing this product because like many things I’ve tried in the past, I was sick of wasting a lot of money on a product that turned out to be a disappointment. I searched all over the internet for reviews and information and finally made the decision to fork over the cash and give it a whirl. Turns out, I’m quite sure that the people who say this DOESN’T work must be using it on the incorrect forms of acne it was intended for. It works like a CHARM on the indicated types it was designed for. I’m still amazed every time I use it!! Obviously with any acne product, you’re still going to have a side effect though: a red, irritated circle from where the device is held. The redness fades and is much more comfortable than a dry patch of skin most acids leave behind. I get relief IMMEDIATELY w/ my ZENO!!! :-)

It works, but can get quite expensive

I’m in my early 20′s, and have had moderate acne since i was in my early teens. Not really bad, but enough to make me pick at it every now and then. The zeno product is great if you use it 3 times per day. But when you have more than one zit, and you’re using this 3 times per day, you use up an entire 60 cartridge zeno tip within a few days. I like the product a lot, I just wish that it weren’t so expensive. You have to think, $35 per 90 cartridge, I can go through that in a week, which comes about to be $140 per month on just cartridges. I’m sorry, but for that price I’d rather just wash my face and deal with the zits.
